Entertainment Weekly (EW) has shared an exclusive still of the upcoming movie adaptation of Veronica Roth's novel Divergent. In here we get to see Tris in the knife-throwing scene. If you could remember, Veronica Roth was also able to gush about that scene during her visit to the set of Divergent in Chicago. You can read that post here. So what do you think of this new still?

Shailene Woodley on bonding with her co-stars:

“It’s a good group,” she says. “We’re hanging out on weekends, celebrating birthdays. Everyone just wants to get to know one another. It’s rare to get a big group together and not have any conflicts. It’s really kind of amazing.”

On the knives-throwing scene:

“It’s about being selfless and standing up for what’s right,” Woodley says.
But don’t worry about those knives: “They’re just rubber,” she says.

Divergent Movie Set Photos Spotted in Chicago

The production for the movie adaptation of Divergent, based on the best selling novel by Veronica Roth, has started on the first week of April. In fact some construction for the movie set has been seen in Chicago lately. Here's another batch of set pics that were shared by Twitter user coffeygrinds. The shots depict two pairs of home that's being constructed. If I'm not mistaken this will be used for an unknown faction. What do you think?

In case you missed it, Veronica Roth has shared her experiences visiting the film. She revealed that she was able to see the knife throwing scene. You can read that post here.

Lauren in Divergent Will be Played by Justine Wachsberger

Lauren will be played by actress Justine Wachsberger in the movie adaptation of Veronica Roth's book "Divergent." The actress confirmed it via her official Twitter account.

Lauren is one of the Dauntless trainers along with Four who welcomes Tris and the other iniates for the faction. She is born under the Dauntless faction and she also chose to remain with it.  During the practice, the initiates including Tris use her fear landscape, which include spiders, suffocation, walls that slowly close you in, getting thrown out of Dauntless, uncontrollable bleeding, getting run over by a Train, her father’s death, public humiliation, and kidnapping by men without faces.

Veronica Roth Blown Away with the Divergent Filming and Set! Confirming Uriah Issue

On her official blog, Veronica Roth, the author of Divergent trilogy, has detailed her experiences when visiting the filming set of the first silver screen adaptation of her book. You can read the full post here or you can check the main points I quoted from her post below. In case you missed it, the title of the third book of the Divergent trilogy is Allegiant and it will come out this October by you can already pre-order it Amazon.

On the knife-throwing scene:

After that we returned to the knife-throwing set and I watched the scene...over and over again, because, you know, that's how shooting movies works! Strangely this did not get boring for me (even though I've written that scene from two different POVs and I've probably read it over 100 times), which is a credit to everyone involved with it. I can't say much without spoiling things, but I will say that the scene is very true to the book.

On the stunts and fighting choreography:

Shortly after that I met the Garrett, Master of Stunts and Fights (that's not his official title, but it's what I now call him in my mind), who told me about developing a particular fighting style for the movie and taught me the Dauntless stance. I even punched a punching bag. And nearly hurt my hand, because I am a marshmallow. (Garrett is not.)

The pit and train set:

I also got to see the Pit, a train car, and an Abnegation house, about which I can only say: !!! One of the best parts of the day was that I got to meet all the craftsmen who are working on the sets after seeing their impeccable work. I was so impressed with how much effort and thought went into everything I saw, so it was really fantastic to meet the people who were making it happen.

On the costume:

Then the fashion geek (is that a thing? I suspect it is not) inside me freaked out, because COSTUMES. I've been curious to see what they would do with costumes, because creating outfits that are entirely one or two colors is not an easy task, sorry guys. But...damn. Did they do it. I may or may not be planning an elaborate heist in which I sneak into the area after dark and steal some clothes. (Note: that is a joke. *hides heist plans in a drawer*)

Talking with the cast:

I know you're probably mostly interested in the cast, because that's who you'll actually see on the screen. Let me first say that everyone was so nice, despite the fact that, for the first half of the day, I was too stunned to form coherent sentences. The people I talked to: Shailene Woodley (Tris), Theo James (Four), Jai Courtney (Eric), Christian Madsen (Al), Miles Teller (Peter), Ben Lamb (Edward), Ben Lloyd Hughes (Will), Zoe Kravitz (Christina), Amy Newbold (Molly). Basically, the whole Dauntless gang.
And they were all awesome. What can I tell you? They were all SO GOOD in that scene. Every time! Which is probably why I was able to watch it so many times! Without getting tired of it! Exclamation points!
On not casting Uriah:

Now, to address something else-- the issue of Uriah. Some of you may have heard, and some may not, that Uriah won't be cast until the second movie, if we are fortunate enough to make another one. It is understandably disappointing when a favorite character doesn't make it on screen. However, what I do think is encouraging is that the people working on the movie are taking the role of Uriah so seriously and taking so much care to get him right.

Uriah Won't be in Divergent Movie

According to reports, the character Uriah won't be in the first movie adaptation of Divergent. Uriah is one of the Dauntless initiates along with Tris who will undergo rigorous training to become part of the faction. Unlike Tris, Uriah is not a faction transfer. He doesn't have a huge role in the first book but he becomes integral to Tris in the second book.

Uriah is a Divergent and is described to be tall and handsome with dark hair and brown eyes.
